Readathon Challenge Number 4

Hi All!! I hope you are enjoying your readathon!! I know I am. I was very excited when Sarah asked me to host a challenge and have been trying to come up with a really fun one. I decided on COVERS!! I know the adage "don't judge a book by it's cover" but let's face it, we all like pretty covers.

Here's the challenge:
Pick one of the books that you're reading during the readathon. Post a pic of the cover. Then go find a cover of another edition that you love: paperback vs. hard, second editions, international, fan-made...whatever strikes your fancy. Or pick one that you don't get/like or both! Post both pics in your blog stating what you like or don't like about the covers, then link up your post. It's that simple.

I hope that you find this to be a fun challenge. You have until 6pm Eastern time July 11 to finish complete this challenge to be considered for one of the prizes Sarah is giving away here. Good luck!

For this readathon one of the books I am reading Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Here's the American version that I'm sure you're familiar with.
My favorite that I've found so far is the British Adult Edition. Apparently, there are separate editions for children and adults. Both have awesome covers, but I feel that the British adult one perfectly sums up the book. The worn book cover makes me feel all warm and tingly inside. I love when books have obviously be loved and well read.

The edition that I don't really like is the German one. I kind of get it, but I feel kind underwhelmed by it. Plus, the dipiction of Harry Potter is kind of creepy serial killer ish.

Link up your posts for the challenge below! Have fun!

  2. Argh, I hate the adult Harry Potters, because they were designed as a way for morons to read Harry potter on the train or whatever, so that Boone would know they were reading Harry potter! Who wouldn't want people to know that's what youre reading?! That German cover is wayyy creepy too dude!

  3. Okay, I seriously think I like the German best and I don't know why. I think it's the cover that would most intrigue me to read it.

  6. I agree with you on the German version, Harry does look creepy. I find it hard to decide which of the other to I like more, they are both beautiful in their own way.
