Synopsis via Goodreads: Remember the
weird kid with the greasy hair and the odd smell you went to school with? You
know, the one who never talked to anyone? That creepy kid who sat alone at
lunch? The kid who never took a shower in gym class? The one you imagined might
one day go on a shooting spree?
Believe it or not, that kid grew up.
He grew up, he got married, he never shot a single person, he wrote a book, and he even started taking showers after his workouts – most of the time.
Goats Eat Cans is his story.
Follow along as Steven Novak recounts the sometimes hilarious, sometimes hilariously painful, and sometimes painfully hilarious moments that have made his life so wonderfully frustrating. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, and you might even vomit. No matter what, you won't be able to stop reading.
Goats Eat Cans features 55 stories, 55 illustrations, 99 luftballons and enough nonsense to keep you chuckling and giggling for days on end – or hours – or at the very least a few minutes.

Having read a lot of what Steven Novak writes, I
thought that I was prepared for what would be Goats Eat Cans, I’d even read
some of the stories that he put on his website. However, nothing can really
prepare you for the stories in this book. Not completely.
While I liked the book, I think the fact that I have
a twisted sense of humor is part of why I enjoyed it. It’s part real-life
stories, part life observations, and a lot of gross out facts and examples.
Part of the time I was laughing out loud and the other times my mouth was agape
in horror; a “please tell me all men aren’t like this” kind of horror.
Definite pros are that it’s quick reading and
chances are it will make you laugh. The only con would be that if you have a
weak stomach, this book is probably not going to be the one for you. If you
have a slightly twisted sense of humor like I do, you probably won’t mind the
gross out humor. But you have been warned.
The bottom line is that I would read anything that
Steven writes. It’s always worth taking a chance on because he is a writer that
takes risks and he has a unique writing style that I just love. I am curious as
to what could be included in Volume II.

Yayyyy you're back!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteThis sounds too funny. I definitely remember guys like those in elementary school, LOL.
