Monthly TBR #1

I created this meme to show off the books I want to read during the month. Though my reading lists are rarely set in stone, it's an attempt for me to get a bit more focused and organized in my reading habits.

Below are the books I plan to read during September, whether it be books I've already started that I want to finish, ongoing books that I am in no rush to finish, and books I know I'll read start to finish this month.

How The Irish Saved Civilization by Thomas Cahill (Finshed)

Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer (DNF)

The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin

Anansi Boys by Neil Gaiman

The Maid and the Queen by Nancy Goldstone (DNF)

In The Shadow of the Banyan by Vaddey Ratner

The only one I don't expect to finish during September is Sherlock Holmes. It's from my personal library and since it contains both the novels and the short stories, it's one of those things that I pull off the nightstand when I wake in the night and can't get back to sleep.

Most of the books are library books so I feel compelled to read those faster. Extremely Loud, Incredibly Close is a book club pick for September, so I will feel shame if I don't finish that one. How The Irish Saved Civilization is an interlibrary loan so I know that one will be done before it has to be mailed back as well.
